Hero Legacy Project

Our mission is to showcase Paarl for what it really is: a hub of world-class outdoor and adventure activities, creativity, artisans, scenery, destinations and promise, all with Paarl Mountain being at the heart of it all. We want to connect the fantastic people and places of Paarl and in so doing, uplift, empower and support the community.

THE TRAILS

Below you can find an overview of our trails, trailheads and points of interests/landmarks. We will be adding links and information to key trails as well as to our detailed trailhead pages. For now, these are accessible from the menu. On the map you will find two buttons, one labeled ‘find me’ and the other ‘track me’. When using your mobile phone on the trails, you can ‘Find Me’ to view your relative location. ‘Track me’ will update your location as you move so you can see where you are in real time.

Note the abbreviation used in route names: SR = Spice Route, B44 = Bistro 44, SP = Specialized Paarl, FV= Fairview, LWE = Laborie Wine Estate.

Trail Colours

Each major trailhead (Specialized, Rhebokskloof, Laborie and Spice Route) has four routes marked routes. Blue, Green, Red and Yellow as a minimum. Owloon (which is accessed from Ridgeback and Rhebokskloof is marked Purple).

Visit our routes page for more information about each route as well as to search routes open to hiking, running or riding.

White routes represent links between trailheads and traverse the reserve while Pink indicated trails being built.

Black routes are for hiking only.
